Solar hot water
Hot water is the easiest bill to shrink
Water heating is typically the single largest energy use in an Australian home. Solargain has been installing and servicing solar hot water and heat pumps for two decades.

How solar hot water works
Roof-mounted collectors absorb solar radiation and transfer that heat into the water in your storage tank. A booster — electric or gas — tops up the tank only when the sun hasn't done the job, so you're paying for a fraction of the energy you used to.
A heat pump works differently: it extracts warmth from the surrounding air, which makes it a natural match for a home with solar PV already on the roof.

Evacuated tube systems
Excellent cold-climate and low-light performance. Tubes can be replaced individually, and the array is expandable if the household grows.
Flat plate systems
Robust, low-profile collectors that suit warmer climates and roofs where a discreet look matters. Close-coupled or split-system tanks available.
iStore air-to-energy heat pump
Uses ambient air plus a small amount of electricity — ideal paired with solar PV so the tank heats during the day on your own generation.
iStore pool heater
Extends the swimming season by months using heat pump technology instead of gas, and runs happily off surplus solar.
Five year service program
Solar hot water systems need a check-up. Our five year service covers valve inspection, tank sacrificial anode replacement, collector condition and booster function — the work that keeps a warranty valid and a tank alive well past its expected life.
